Internet Protocol version Six
Internet Protocol version Six (IPv6) is the new standard for
the Internet Protocol.
The dwindling of the current IPv4 address space prompted the IETF to begin
developing a new protocol in November 1994.
HEAnet began work on implementing IPv6 in our network in September 2000,
as implementations of the protocol began emerging in a stabalised release.
This presentation will outline the work completed in HEAnets transfer to
IPv6 to date, our dealings in IPv6 with clients, IPv6 connectivity and the
services we are running over IPv6. |
