Network Technology across Europe) was
set up by the national research and education networks (NRENs) in
Europe to provide an operational centre to run network services
for its
members. DANTE has been the lead partner, along with its member
NRENs, in a succession of leading edge pan-European networks. The
most recent implementation of this service is Géant, widely
acclaimed as a ground-breaking achievement in multi-national, multi-gigabit
internetworking. DANTE also
provides support for research and development projects on Géant,
and also provides a number of ancillary networking services. |
