Institutional federated Identity Provider services are typically implemented using the open-source Shibboleth software and connected to the institutions Microsoft Active Directory. While this solution will be appropriate in many cases, some institutions will look to native Microsoft solutions to achieve the same functionality; this workshop will demonstrate how this can be achieved.

Workshop 3: Federating with Web Applications

It will cover the basics of the initial setup of the Shibboleth Service Provider and focus on how best to hack your website to be federated by providing example code and scenarios.
Workshop 4: Cloud Connections

Workshop 5: Fibre Cleaning and Inspection Equipment

Fibre contamination, typically resulting from poor fibre hygiene practices, is the main cause of connectivity problems on fibre links. This workshop discusses proper practices that should be employed when dealing with fibre optic cabling, with the aim of minimising problematic downtime and expensive and time-consuming troubleshooting. Essential fibre cleaning tools and fibre inspection equipment will be described and demonstrated by means of a selection of HEAnet kit that will be available on the day.
Workshop 6: Security - Hack the Network, 2010

This workshop will focus on the application side of security. A variety of hacker tools and test equipment will be provided allowing delegates to perform both network and application attacks. Along with hands-on tutorials there will be discussions on prevention and strategies for mitigation of the attacks.
