NETWORK DEVELOPMENT

The Next Generation Network (NGN) is one initiative that HEAnet has undertaken to ensure we deliver, support and maintain the most cost effective and technically advanced solutions and services for national and international networking to meet the needs of its user community. The purpose of the questionnaire HEAnet send to its Clients in July 2010 was to provide input to the requirements analysis for HEAnets Next Generation Network. Please see the general findings of the Questionnaire below.

Africa connects to Europe through GÉANT and UbuntuNet

The first point-to-point research network circuit between Europe and Africa enables astronomers to create a more detailed view of the universe.

Radio astronomers in Africa and across the globe will benefit from faster collaboration through a dedicated, high speed 15,000 km network link between the pan-European GÉANT and African UbuntuNet Alliance education networks announced today.
