HEAnet in collaboration with JANET sponsored a special Technology prize at this year’s BT Young Scientist Exhibition in January 2011.

Robert Gabriel, a fifth year student from Scoil Mhuire gan Smál in Blarney, won the favour of the judges with his project “Automated Monitoring of Computer SQL Servers by way of a Merit”.

Robert’s school was also presented with a cheque for €2,500 by HEAnet’s Chief Executive, John Boland, which, according to Principal Padraig Sheehan, would be put to very good use purchasing IT equipment and software.
