NOC Helpdesk
The HEAnet Network Operations Centre (NOC) is operated from the HEAnet office in Dublin. The NOC implements, maintains and supports the HEAnet network and services. The HEAnet ticketing system allows the NOC to track faults and report ticket details to clients and peers.

Proactive Monitoring
Proactive monitoring of the HEAnet network and services availability is achieved through the generation of intelligent Nagios alarms. Monitoring is distributed throughout the network to ensure consistency and alarm detection is supplemented by system logs. Latency and performance are monitored using a number of tools including Smokeping and RIPE's TTM service.

Quarterly Service Reports
HEAnet provide each of its member institutions with a comprehensive Quarterly Service Report which measures past network performance against service level agreements.
Conferences & Events
Throughout the year HEAnet organise meetings and events for interest groups within the research and education communities. HEAnet also faciltate events on behalf of TERENA, GÉANT, and other pan-European network development organisations. The highlight event of the year is the HEAnet National Network Conference which attracts I.T. managers, technical staff and others from HEAnet client organisations. The HEAnet National Network Conference is usually held during November each year.

Training/Workshops
HEAnet facilitate training events and workshops for its client community. Previous event topics have included security, network routing and campus network design.
