HEAnet Storage for Co-location clients

HEAnet provides state of the art co-location facilities for clients, with a fully managed hosting environment. This environment provides high-speed resilient network connectivity to the HEAnet client community and the Internet, out of band server command and control (power, keyboard, video, mouse, media) for lights out operation, and remote hands and eyes for when physical intervention is required. Co-located servers can also avail of HEAnet' s high performance network attached storage, which provides scalable fault tolerant file systems.

The storage system is fully featured and very fast. The system is based on Isilon's self healing distributed high performance X and NL series platforms, which offers the ability to specify customized snapshots per file/folder/file system, access via CIFS (Windows) and nfs (Linux).

Key features:

  •  very high-speed (1 Gb/s ethernet connection to the NAS)
  •  highly fault tolerant, self healing storage array
  • snapshots, quotas
  • multi-protocol support nfs, CIFS
  • scaleable, client specific performance levels
  • flexible - use what you want, when you want it

Costs:

          €1345 per TB per year
