Postdoctoral Researcher – Invertebrate stem cell biology

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for a full-time, fixed term position as a postdoctoral researcher at School of Natural Sciences and Regenerative Medicine Institute (REMEDI), National University of Ireland, Galway. This position is funded by Science Foundation Ireland (SFI) and is available from 1st January 2013 to contract end date of 31st December 2014.

 

 

Job Description:

The successful candidate will conduct research on the molecular mechanisms that control stemness and lineage commitment in stem cells of the cnidarian Hydractinia.

 

 

Qualifications:

Applicants must have a Ph.D. in molecular cell biology, developmental biology, or related area. The ideal candidate would have experience in stem cell biology as evidenced by a strong publication record. Candidates should have excellent communication and organizational skills; be highly motivated and passionate about their research and have strong documentation, oral and interpersonal skills.

 

Starting salary: €38,286 per annum (public sector pay policy rules pertaining to new entrants will apply)                   

 

Start date: Position is available from 1st January 2013
