DNS Workshop

A well maintained and resilient DNS infrastructure is one of the cornerstones of a stable network. This workshop will give an overview of common DNS pitfalls and how to avoid them, building out a resilient infrastructure and securing your DNS with DNSSEC.
* Delegates will gain hands-on experience in the following:
* Configuring and maintaining a BIND nameserver.
* Securing a nameserver.
* Zone delegation.
* Diagnosing DNS issues.
* Enabling the signed DNS root.
* Signing a zone with DNSSEC.
A laptop will be required for all exercises. WiFi will be provided on site. Access via eduroam is also available for eduroam-enabled clients.
Attendees should have a basic knowledge of the DNS' function and operation and some Linux/UNIX command-line experience.
Whilst the lab and exercises will be conducted in a BIND/Linux environment, we will have Windows DNS/Directory expertise on hand to discuss common Windows DNS configuration issues and best practices
