Service Resilience Workshop

On Thursday 2nd of April, HEAnet held a workshop at 5 George’s Dock to advise clients of our plans to evaluate the expansion of Service Resilience for clients on their IP network. We discussed the business needs of clients asking them to identify if they require a resilient network to sustain these needs currently or in the future.
Connectivity to client networks has increased in scale, availability, functionality  and geographic diversity and we asked each client representative to critically analyse their respective resiliency needs and advise us of their requirements for enhanced service availability for their network connectivity to HEAnet.
We explained how and why we might increase resilience in our networks for our clients and showed some examples of the components where resilience could be added.
We also discussed some other longer term strategies and highlight some network changes designed to simplify connectivity for some clients.
