HEAnet has recently welcomed two new clients:

HEAnet is on track to meet the Government commitment to provide post-primary schools in 14 county areas with 100 Mbit/s broadband by end of October 2012.

From Wed 06 June 2012, Google, Facebook, Yahoo, Akamai and many others will provide their websites over IPv6 as well as IPv4.  A number of network operators and router manufacturers are also participating.  Network operators (including campus networks) can participate by committing to connect 1% of their users over IPv6 - details can be found at www.worldipv6launch.org

The first point-to-point research network circuit between Europe and Africa enables astronomers to create a more detailed view of the universe.

Radio astronomers in Africa and across the globe will benefit from faster collaboration through a dedicated, high speed 15,000 km network link between the pan-European GÉANT and African UbuntuNet Alliance education networks announced today.
