Our People Our Strength: HEAnet Group’s Commitment to EDI and Wellbeing
As part of our continued focus on Wellbeing, Equality, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI), and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) practices, we are pleased to share an update of recent initiatives and achievements across HEAnet and EduCampus.
National Workplace Wellbeing Day, 30th April.
HEAnet and EduCampus proudly participated in Ibec’s 11th annual National Workplace Wellbeing Day. The week-long celebration served as a powerful reminder of the importance of nurturing mental, physical, and social wellbeing in the workplace.
To mark the occasion, a range of wellness activities was offered, including:
- Nutritious Healthy Breakfast sessions
- Classes and wellness workshops from Ibec’s Wellbeing programme providers
These activities contributed to a positive environment, encouraging staff to take time for self-care while promoting a healthier, more connected workplace culture.
Ready, Set, Cycle! – 28th April to 25th May
In partnership, HEAnet and EduCampus took part in a city-wide Ready Set Cycle Challenge, competing alongside other public and private organisations in Dublin.
We are delighted to announce that HEAnet claimed two wins during the month:
- Week 2: Bike to Work Challenge Winner
- Week 3: Photography Challenge Winner
This initiative not only fostered physical wellbeing but also strengthened camaraderie and team spirit across our organisations.
Ronald McDonald House Charity Initiative – 12th May
As part of our ongoing EDI efforts, a group of staff from HEAnet and EduCampus volunteered to cook a nutritious evening meal for families staying at the Ronald McDonald House in Crumlin.
This initiative provided an opportunity to support families during a difficult time and reinforce our commitment to giving back to the community through compassionate action.
20th May – Dublin Honey Killester Webinar
Vincent Grout, an experienced beekeeper from Dublin Honey Killester with over 12 years managing more than 25 hives, joined us for an engaging one-hour presentation on honeybees and beekeeping in Ireland and its pros.
We had the chance to see an observation hive in progress and sample the local honey
10th June – Environment Day ESG Initiative / Adopt a Street – Street Cleaning
A group of HEAnet colleagues joined forces and met to “adopt” our local North Wall Avenue and clean up trash and make a difference on this year’s Environment Day. A great initiative by Dublin City Council to bring public and private offices and communities to take care of local areas.
In reflecting on these recent initiatives, the strength of the HEAnet Group lies in the dedication and collective spirit of our people. Whether promoting wellness, championing diversity, engaging with the community, or supporting environmental sustainability, our teams at HEAnet and EduCampus continue to demonstrate a deep commitment to creating a positive and inclusive workplace. These efforts are more than individual events, they represent the culture we are proud to foster: one of respect, connection, and shared purpose. We look forward to building on this momentum and further embedding EDI and wellbeing at the heart of everything we do.
