Focus Group Helps Shape Wellbeing Programme for 2026
A Wellbeing Focus Group held on 12 November brought colleagues together to share insights, lessons learned and ideas for the 2026 wellbeing plan.
Four new Wellbeing Ambassadors were selected to represent staff across the organisation and will highlight wellbeing activities and opportunities in Dublin through the 2026 internal newsletters. Their involvement should strengthen engagement and ensure staff voices remain central to wellbeing planning.
The session also featured caricaturist Philip Barrett, who captured discussions through a series of colourful illustrations—a creative addition that added character to the event. A shared wellbeing lunch rounded off the day, supporting connection and community among attendees.

Giving Tuesday Supports Hygiene Hub Dublin
To mark Giving Tuesday on 2 December 2025, colleagues volunteered with Hygiene Hub Dublin, a grassroots initiative founded by Ciára Dalton, Sorcha Killian and Rosie McDonagh. The organisation focuses on addressing hygiene poverty, a challenge that continues to affect individuals and families across Dublin.
Staff packed toiletry kits valued at €500, which will be distributed to people in need throughout the city. The activity highlighted the meaningful impact small volunteer-led efforts can have, particularly when supported collectively.

Staff Join Together for Return Initiative Raising Funds for Sheriff Club
The Return bottle-and-can collection initiative, delivered by HEAnet staff in partnership with the Sheriff Club, has generated €135 in support of the club’s community-centred youth football programmes. The contribution reflects the value of small, consistent actions and their tangible impact on grassroots organisations.
Sheriff Club operates entirely on a volunteer basis and supports children from age 3½ right through to senior level. Its Deputy Academy introduces young children to football in a welcoming, structured environment before they progress into youth teams and, for many, onward to adult men’s and women’s football. The club’s ethos of “always trying” is woven through every age group, encouraging determination, confidence and resilience.
The organisation plays an important role within the inner-city community, offering a safe and inclusive space for boys and girls to engage in sport. Sheriff also collaborates with YPAR and the HAY Project to support young people at risk, promoting sport as a positive alternative to challenging circumstances.
With a strong commitment to equal access, the club ensures that financial limitations never prevent a child from participating. Many families face costs that are difficult to meet in other sporting environments, and Sheriff works to remove these barriers by providing equipment and support where needed. Initiatives such as the Return scheme and sponsorships help sustain this model, ensuring every young player has the opportunity to take part and thrive.
