| Andy Donald is a Research Fellow and lead of the Applied Innovation Unit at Insight, University of Galway. His current research focus covers automation of the AI and machine learning process and the application of explainable AI methods within these processes and their application in real world, cloud based situations. He has a particular interest in the development of surrogate models for complex computational models and how these can be applied to help real-time predictions. He has made significant contributions to research on distributed systems and stream processing as well as researching Linked Data and Knowledge Graph construction. His interests also extend into management of large scale Multimodal Data Ecosystems. His significant private sector background also provides a unique view into how innovative research can be scaled and applied to real world issues both at an academic and industry level. |
