The Virtual Aorta project, led by the National University of Ireland, Galway, aims to develop patient-specific in silico test beds for aortic aneurysm and dissection. By leveraging cloud services, the project enhances diagnostics, accelerates therapeutic development, and stimulates the adoption of cloud computing resources. This paper highlights the benefits of cloud services in secure data management, computational modelling, collaboration, and user experience, while adhering to EU open data directives. The project serves as a compelling case study for the broader research community.
