Cyber Standards - Fusion or Confusion? ▶

Dr Lubna Luxmi Dhirani - University of Limerick

Every 30 seconds a Cyber attack takes place somewhere across the world, leading to data theft, reputational damage, increased security, privacy and regulatory concerns. With barely 12% of enterprises implementing Cybersecurity Standards and practicing one-size-fits-all model, leads  failure to capture and assess cyber threats and vulnerabilities. Cyber Standards that vary in terms of scope, coverage and technicality, imprecise implementation in tech-driven enterprises may potentially escalate cyber-risks. This is why it is important to understand how to correctly form standards fusion, blend threat intelligence with security controls, enable proactive threat detection mechanisms and mitigate cyber risks.
