This talk will provide an introduction to Passive DNS and a practical insight into identification techniques using Passive DNS systems. It also provides a practical exploration of “Irish” internet systems and details potential malicious activity traced to IP infrastructures associated with “Ireland's address space”. This talk will attempt to highlight the importance of Passive DNS collection systems, the security benefits to be gained and opportunities for collaboration with Ireland's educational institutions and Internet organisations.
