Tom Felle

Lecturer in Journalism, UL

Tom Felle is a former Independent News and Media journalist and has worked as the Irish Independent’s midlands correspondent. He started his career with the Galway city based Connacht Tribune and briefly worked for Associated Newspapers.

He has worked as a journalist in Australia and in the Middle East and has contributed to a wide range of international publications on foreign affairs and political issues. In 2006 and 2007 he was Beirut Bureau Chief of the Lebanon News Agency.

He joined the University of Limerick in 2009, is a lecturer in journalism and new media, and head of the journalism programmes there. His research interests include local media and democracy, open government and social media.
