Seamus Shaw

Chief Technology Officer, UCD

The Chief Technology Officer is responsible for University-wide IT Services including Academic and Administrative Systems, Research IT, Teaching and Learning Technologies and UCD Web Services. Mr. Seamus Shaw has been appointed Chief Technology Officer of UCD from the 1st of June 2012.

Seamus previously held the position of Deputy CIO of UCD and has extensive experience in developing, delivering and managing information technology services.

During this period, a number of new and innovative ideas have come to fruition, with wide spread adoption. These include adopting a service centric approach for UCD IT Services, supported by a distributed customer service support model.

Also, new cloud and mobile services have been deployed in the last two years.

Seamus studied at the Dublin Institute of Technology, Trinity College Dublin and the Institute of Public Administration.

He is currently studying for his MBA in the UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School.
